Amalia Garcia, 74, passed away December 6, 2015, in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born in San Jose de Aura, Coahuila Mexico September 15, 1942 to Felix Ortega Castellano and Roberta Vasquez Valdez. Amalia was a home provider for many years and retired as a custodian from the Ben Bolt Middle School.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Antonio Hernandez Sr.; one brother, Hector Felix Ortega Vasquez; one sister, Rosaura Ortega Vasquez.
She is survived by four sons, Felix Antonio Garcia of Green Acres, Texas, Antonio “Tony” Garcia (Del) of Beeville, Texas, Francisco Garcia (Maria) of Green Acres, Texas and Arnulfo Garcia (Matilda) of Corpus Christi, Texas; one daughter, Maria Ester Arguijo (Ruben) of Corpus Christi, Texas; one brother, Juan Ortega (Maria Elena de Ortega) of San Antonio, Texas; three sisters, Delia Ortega Vasquez of Abasolo, Coahuila Mexico, Dora Lilia Vasquez of Monclova, Coahuila, Mexico, and Gloria Ortega Vasquez (Luis Brelado) of Monterrey, Mexico; 18 grandchildren, Rachel Marie Garcia, Felix Garcia Jr., Abran Francisco Garcia, Angela Marie Garcia, Francisco Garcia Jr., Gabrielle Ann Garcia, Arnulfo Garcia Jr., Mattheau Garcia, Alexandria Garcia, Michelle Pena, Ruben Arguijo Jr., Jennifer Marie Arguijo, Daniel Antonio Arguijo, Erica Ann Arguijo, Jeanette Marie Arguijo, Gabriel Daniel Arguijo, Desiree Ramirez and Cody J. Hernandez.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 8, 2015, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Rosas Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary being recited at 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Gudalupe Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Antonio Garcia Cemetery in Palito Blanco, Texas.
