AUSTIN -- State Representative J.M. Lozano has filed for re-election to serve his 4th term in the Texas House of Representatives.

Lozano, a Republican, represents House District 43 (Bee, Jim Wells, Kleberg and San Patricio Counties). In his first three terms Lozano distinguished himself as a leader for issues affecting South Texas: standing up for education, promoting jobs and economic growth and supporting small businesses. Among Lozano’s honors include The Texas Association of Substance Abuse Programs “Lone Star Award” for his successful efforts in the 2015 Session to combat substance abuse.

Representative Lozano is Chairman of the House Redistricting Committee and Vice-Chair of the House International Trade Committee. He has also led on energy and environmental issues, having served on the Environmental Regulation Committee and Energy Resources Committee.

Lozano, a small business owner, lives in Kingsville with his wife Abby and their three children: Penny, Pepito and Carlitos. A native to District 43, he is a graduate of Premont High School.

In his last election, Lozano won over 61% of the vote. He looks forward to serving another term in the Texas House and continuing his work for the people of Bee, Jim Wells, Kleberg and San Patricio Counties.
