Duval County- A young man caused a two-vehicle accident early Saturday morning on County Road 303 and Highway 44 after he admitted to state troopers he had been drinking.

Clemente Espinoza was traveling north on County Road 303 in a tan Tahoe when he disregarded a stop sign and collided with a green truck.

Leopoldo Serna was traveling west on Highway 44. According to family on the scene, Serna was on his way to his ranch, a Sunday morning routine.

According to officials on the scene, the accident was initially believed to be due to the heavy fog however, Espinoza told troopers on the scene he had been drinking.

Espinoza was traveling at a high rate of speed down the county road.

Espinoza was taken to the Alice Police Department for a breathalyzer before being transported to the hospital for medical clearance.

The drivers did not have any visible injuries.

Espinoza's alcohol level was above the legal amount. He was transported to the Duval County jail and charged with driving while intoxicated.

Espinoza was released Sunday.
