After a 20-year hiatus, the Mr. and Miss Coastal Bend College (CBC) Scholarship Pageant will return to center stage on Saturday, November 7 at 6 p.m. The pageant is scheduled to take place at the Gertrude R. Jones Auditorium located at the CBC Beeville campus at 3800 Charco Road.
The scholarship pageant is open to current students who are enrolled in at least 12 credit hours at one of CBCís locations in Beeville, Alice, Kingsville or Pleasanton. All interested contestants must also remain in good standing with the College by maintaining a 2.5 grade point average (GPA) throughout the 2015-2016 academic year.
Each contestantís score will be based on their essay submission, current GPA, career wear, formal wear and onstage interview question. Career wear will include attire from the profession that pageant contestant wishes to pursue upon the completion of their degree and/or certificate at CBC. A mandatory dress rehearsal will be held inside of the Gertrude R. Jones Auditorium on Friday, November 6 beginning at 12 p.m.
The contestants who are chosen as Mr. and Miss CBC will be awarded a crown, sash and a $1000 scholarship to CBC. Contestants who are awarded first runner-up will receive a $500 scholarship to attend CBC, and the second-runners up will receive a $250 scholarship. Interested contestants should note that Mr. and Miss CBC, as well as their court, would be required to attend special CBC and community events.
Individuals who are interested in attending the scholarship pageant should make plans to purchase a $5 ticket online via www.coastalbend.edu/cbcpageant. Tickets will go on sale Thursday, October 1 at 12 p.m.†
