In (Ephesians 5:23), Paul writes, “For the husband is the head of the wife as also Christ is the head of the church, and He is the Savior of the body.” Did you get the impact of that? Christ is the Savior of His Church and the head of the church. You can search the pages of your bible from cover to cover and you will not find where Christ has promised to save anyone who is not in His church!

When you think of it, how could anyone who is not in the church be saved when anyone who is saved is added to the church by the lord at the time of his salvation. (Acts 2:47) (Praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.) In New Testament times people who were converted to Christ did not run out and join the church of their choice. Their church membership was taken care of when they obeyed the gospel and were baptized into Christ (His Body). I have never joined a church! And yet I have been in one every since I was born again. Christ added me to His church and I have been content therein.

The church is saved! We have already learned that when we are saved the Lord adds us to His church. So if you are saved you are in the Lord’s church, and Christ is the savior of the church. If we remain faithful He will present the church to the Father in the last day, and we will be saved eternally. “Christ also loved the church, and gave Himself for it; that He might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of the water by the word, that He might present it to Himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.”(Ephesians 5:25-27). Jesus said in (Mark 16:16) “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned” Paul said, in (Galatians 3:27) “For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.” So the same thing that saves us (Faith and baptism), puts us into Christ, or His church, and if we do not soil our garments with sin, Christ will present us to the Father, and we will be saved eternally in heaven.

Shouldn’t you be in His church today, so that when it is saved, you will be among that number?

Come worship with us at the Freer Church of Christ.
