Alice police officers continue to search for a Hispanic man for his involvement in an assault on the 600 block of Plymouth Street.

Officers responded to a woman's call for help on Thursday. The victim told officers an argument had erupted between her and the suspect, officers stated.

The victim ran to a neighbor's home and called 9-1-1, according to police officials. The suspect fled the scene after the victim managed to escape her attacker. Police said she was strangulated and the suspect choked her with both hands.

The suspect fled the area on foot after neighbor's started to exit their homes to find out the reason for all the commotion.

Officers actively searched the area on Plymouth and Goliad streets, however; were unable to locate the suspect.

The suspect was wearing a black shirt, black shorts and a black shoes at the time of the incident, according to officers.

The victim was transported to the hospital with minor injuries with bruises to her neck.

The suspect is facing charges of assault by strangulation family violence. As of Thursday evening, the suspect remained on the loose.
