EDINBURG, Texas – Rio Grande Valley Border Patrol agents seized more than 1,200 pounds of marijuana. A total of three seizures occurred within 3 hours of each other yesterday. The seizures occurred in Havana, Fronton and Garciasville, Texas.
The biggest seizure occurred in Garciasville, Texas, when Rio Grande City Border Patrol agents confiscated 799 pounds of marijuana. Tracking fresh footprints and with the assistance of a service K9, agents were led directly to a storage shed. Inside, agents found 14 large military duffle bags containing marijuana. The marijuana was turned over to Starr County Sheriff’s Office. The total value of all seized marijuana was approximately $960,000.00.
