Community members from Alice and surrounding areas stopped by the Coastal Bend College Alice campus on Wednesday to view the Welding Technology Trailer.
The trailer contains the latest state-of-the-art welding equipment from Lincoln Electric. CBC will use the trailer to serve all four CBC locations and 38 dual enrollment high school programs.
The trailer equipment includes eight Power Wave C300 Multi-Process Educational Ready-Pak, two Power Wave S350 and a Torchmate 2X2 CNC Prototyping System/ Tomahawk 625 Plasma Cutter
Equipment on the trailer will provide welding students with hands on training.
CBC's welding curriculum is aligned with the American Welding (AWS) Society's School Excelling through National Skill Standards Level 1 and Level 2 curriculum.
CBC is currently working with the AWS on accrediting the welding trailer as an AWS accredited testing facility. The accreditation gives students the opportunity to test in the trailer with one of CBC's Certified Welding Inspectors.
The trailer will be available to view on campus until June 17.
