The city of Alice is preparing for numerous egg hunts in the area to bring the community together.

H-E-B will be assisting the City of Alice with their annual egg hunt which will be Friday, March 27 at 5:30 p.m. in the Veterans Plaza Park. Children up to age 12 will be able to collect eggs.

VFW Post 8621 and Ladies Auxiliary will host an Easter Egg Hunt will be April 4 at 10 a.m. for children up to age 10. More than 5,000 eggs will be hidden.

The Silver Star Food Store will be hosting it's second annual egg hunt on April 4 at 1 p.m. behind the store.

Amanda Friedeck, daughter of owners Sivestre and Melinda Rodriguez, said the store ran out of eggs quickly last year.

"We know what to expect now so we are better prepared and have more eggs," she said.

More than 3,000 eggs will be hidden at the store's hunt and items from vendors will be given out.

"The hunt will have two sections, one for smaller children and one for older children, so the younger ones won't get stepped on," Friedeck said.

Silver Star will also have a drawing for an adult prize and two prizes for each egg hunt sections.

"We know the community appreciates events like this so we make this hunt our biggest event. This will be a really good time for everyone," she said.
