BENAVIDES — Because of the rain from the past week, the District 32-2A match-up between Ben Bolt-Palito Blanco and Agua Dulce was a road game for both squad.

Muddy conditions forced coaches to move the game from Tuesday in Ben Bolt to Wednesday in Benavides. Despite the drive to Duval County, the Badgers appeared to be right at home.

Ben Bolt-Palito Blanco scored five in the first inning and seven in the second to beat Agua Dulce, 12-0, in five innings.

With the victory, the Badgers, 4-3 for the season, improved t0 3-0 in district.

The Badgers again had strong pitching. Chris Uribe was given the win after striking out 12 and walking only three in the shutout win.

“Chris threw very well,” BB-PB coach Frank Galvan said. “The thing about him is that he throws a lot of strikes.”

Gilbert Cantu led the Badgers offensive going 2-for-2 with three runs and two RBIs.

The win marks the beginning of a busy couple of days for Ben Bolt-Palito Blanco. The Badgers played George West and Poteet in the Banquete tournament Thursday. They play John Paul II Friday morning and then return to Ben Bolt Friday afternoon for a district match against San Perlita.
