Mother nature continues to wreak havoc on spring sports.

Almost a week of steady rain left playing fields soggy and in some cases under water.

The Alice Coyote baseball team was set to play a crucial District 30-5A game against rival Tuloso-Midway. However, the field at Tuloso-Midway High School was deemed to muddy to play on. Instead, the game was moved from Tuesday to Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Ben Bolt-Palito Blanco also had their match-up against district foe Benavides moved. In the Badgers’ case, the game wasn’t only moved to Wednesday, but field conditions turned what should have been a home game into a road game. The game is now set for 5 p.m. in Benavides.

In soccer, the Alice Coyotes were scheduled to play a home game in the Alice High School Auxiliary Field against District 30-5A’s Victoria West. Parts of the field were covered in puddles and other parts were simply too soggy to play on.

The game was moved from Tuesday to Wednesday at 5 p.m.
