Joe Uribe, 70, a lifetime resident of Freer, Texas was called home on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at an Alice hospital after a sudden illness. He was born in Freer, Texas on December 31, 1944 to his parents, David and Alicia M. Uribe. He was a US Army Veteran during the Vietnam Era. He worked in the oil field business all his life and owned an operated Uribe Well Service. He enjoyed boating and fishing and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a granddaughter, Paula N. Uribe.

Joe is survived by his wife of 43 years of marriage, Janie Uribe of Freer, Texas; two sons, Alberto (April) Uribe and Joseph Uribe both of Freer, Texas; two daughters, Angelica (Jose) Flores of Freer, Texas; Melissa (Sergio) Uribe of Alice, Texas; one brother, Eddie (Blanca) Uribe of Calallen, Texas; 11 grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at the Garza Funeral Home in Freer, Texas, with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 9, 2015 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Freer, Texas. Military Graveside Service and Interment will follow at the Los Reyes Cemetery in Los Reyes, Texas.
