Alvino Flores Jr., 68, died March 7, 2015 at his residence after a short illness.

He was born on December 21, 1946 in Benavides and was a resident of Benavides, Texas. He was a graduate of Texas A&I University. Alvino was a US Army Veteran who served during the Vietnam War. He was a former Border Patrol Agent and was currently employed with Texas Energy. He will always be remembered for his love of playing the lottery.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvino and Olivia Flores.

Alvino is survived by his wife, Rosalinda Flores; two children, Alvino Joel Flores and Melissa Almaraz and husband Juan; three sisters, Yolanda Gonzalez and husband, Eppy Gonzalez, Norma Lopez and husband Armin, and Maria Inez Flores; Grandson, Joshua Flores; granddaughters, Haley Flores and Alexis Cordova; great grandson, Eli Flores, and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. on Monday, March 9, 2015 at the Garza Funeral Home in San Diego, Texas with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church in Benavides, Texas. Cremation will follow.
