Eighth grade students at William Adams Middle School attended a Career and Technology Education (CTE) Expo at Alice High School Tuesday, March 3.
Towards the end of the school year, eighth grade students will register for their freshman year at Alice High School.
Under House Bill 5, students are now required to choose an endorsement to complete though out their high school career. Students can choose from the following endorsements Science Technology Engineering Mathematics (STEM), Business and Industry, Public Services, Arts and Humanities, or Multidisciplinary.
The purpose of the CTE Expo, which was coordinated by CTE Teacher Celina Garcia from Alice High School and Sandra Smithwick, parent involvement coordinator from WAMS, was to give students a glimpse of the different CTE offerings.
Students were allowed to enter and visit the different classrooms, labs and facilities in the CTE department.
