William Adams Middle School partnered with Community Action Corporation of South Texas during a health and safety fair to educate students before Spring Break.

The celebration started at 9 a.m. Friday with vendors including CHRISTUS Spohn, United Healthcare, Alice Fire Department and CACOST.

Students learned the importance of washing hands, the fat content in everyday food and the importance of not texting while driving.

Alice Fire Department had a car which had been involved in an accident to demonstrate to students what can happen when people text and drive. They stressed the importance of waiting or having someone else text for the driver.

Students took turns visiting booths that provided pamphlets with health and safety information, pencils and highlighters as well as popcorn to snack on.
