Snow White and the Huntsman

This version is the second Snow White movie this year, but itís a lot different from the fluffy Mirror Mirror released in March. Powered by Charlize Theron as the wicked witch Ravenna and Kristen Stewart as Snow, Huntsman is an action flick with plenty of CGI to compete with the likes of The Avengers, Battleship and Men in Black III. Those three are still going strong, however, which should make it an interesting weekend at the box office.

Men in Black III

Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith made a triumphant return to the big screen, raking in $70 in its debut last week. The dapper duo dumped The Avengers into the second spot in the box office standings and gives MiBIII at remaining No. 1 with Snow White and the Huntsman the only real challenger among the new releases.

What to Expect When Youíre Expecting

Moviegoers are still getting their baby on with Expecting, which is slowly slipping down the top 10 after two weeks in release. Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Lopez headline an all-star cast that also includes Elizabeth Banks, Dennis Quaid and Chris Rock. Former model Brooklyn Decker should get a couple more guys into the seats before itís all said and done.

Expectations were high for Battleship, but things just havenít panned out. It didnít help that The Avengers busted out of the gate by setting records for its massive haul of more than $200 million in its first weekend. There isnít much hope left for this one, especially after opening with a paltry $25 million at the box office. The take dropped to $11 million last week. Hopefully Battleship can make up some of the slack of through DVD and Blu-ray sales.

The Avengers

Still a huge draw, Avengers has brought in $524 million since its release. It shows no signs of letting up despite being dethroned by MiBIII last week. It has plenty of momentum to keep it at or near the top for another couple of weeks, especially if the new releases fail to give Avengers any real competition.
