The Ben Bolt Independent School District Board of Trustees met Tuesday night for their regular meeting at Ben Bolt-Palito Blanco High School.
The meeting began with a performance from the middle and high school mariachi bands and the board gave recognition to Larry Adams for medals won at the Technology Olympics for the visually impaired in Corpus Christi. They then presented the Student of the Month shortly after from the elementary school, middle school and two seniors from the high school.
The board then moved onto the action items on the agenda, the first giving approval of the constitution of the Ben Bolt-Palito Blanco cheerleaders for the 2012-2013 school year. The cheer sponsors assured the board that the constitution is more formal and will require the cheerleaders to be real leaders within their school community. The board approved the constitution and moved onto the next item.
The board gave approval of assigning Dr. Scott Norris and Norma Perez as record management officers for all district documents and approved the 2012-2013 school calendar with the school year beginning on August 27.
