ALICE, Texas - Delma B. Gutierrez, 75, passed away on November 24, 2007. Delma was a devoted mother, grandmother and sister. She lived a very happy life and had a great sense of humor. She was preceded in death by her son, Jesus Gutierrez Jr.; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Aurelio (Guadalupe) Bernal; sisters, Janie B. Gelista and Belle McKelvey; and brothers, Aurelio Bernal and Ricardo Bernal.

Survivors include her sons, Jose A. (Diana) Gutierrez, Luis Rene (Sylvana) Gutierrez and Luis Castillo, all of Alice, Texas; daughters, Rose Rios and Adriana L. (Victor) Garcia, both of Alice, Texas; sisters, Tina (Martin) Valdez, Dolores Alfaro, Belia Mitchell and Gena L. Bernal, all of Alice, Texas; 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at Roberson Funeral Home in Alice, with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that evening. The funeral procession will depart at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2007 for a 10 a.m. Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow at New Collins Cemetery.

PALITO BLANCO, Texas - Ramiro Vela, age 61, died, Saturday, November 24, 2007 in an Alice hospital after an illness. He was a rancher all of his life and was formerly employed with the City of Alice and currently employed with Foremost Paving Inc.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gustavo and Maria Luisa Vela; a brother, Albino Vela and his father- in-law, Patricio Rivera.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Irma Rivera Vela of Palito Blanco, Texas; a son, Ramiro (Amanda) Vela Jr. of Palito Blanco, Texas; a daughter, Angelica (Ricardo) Rangel Jr. of San Diego, Texas; his mother-in-law, Adela Rivera of Alice, Texas; four grandchildren, Alyssa Renee Range], Ricardo Rangel III and Alyson Kate Rangel all of San Diego, Texas, and Renee Buentello of Palito Blanco, Texas; a brother, Jose Luis (Lydia) Vela and a sister, Guadalupe (Jesse) Vera, both of Palito Blanco, Texas; two uncles, Manuel (Aurora) Munoz of Alice, Texas, and Donato Munoz Sr. of Palito Blanco, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m., Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at Walker-Mora Funeral Home Chapel in Alice, Texas. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at St. Jose Mission in Palito Blanco, Texas, with burial at Satierro Ranch.
