Three Premont High School students placed third in the State History Fair competition on April 26.
Catherine Chaves, Colton Smith and Georgia Tuma received third place for their board at the state history fair competition in Austin.
The board focused on the Navajo Indians and included interviews with Navajos living in New Mexico.
The group will be alternatives for nationals, which will be held in Washington over the summer.
"Overall, it was a great experience," Premont High School teacher Jesse Rodriguez said.
"They worked hard even though they deviated a little. I think they achieved more than they thought they would.
"They got close and hopefully next year they will do better. While we were out there we also had a chance to go hiking and visit the Colorado River. It was very refreshing," he said.
