The Alice Fire Department opened their doors to WAMS National Junior Honors Society Wednesday, Dec. 18. The students collected teddy bears of any size for fire fighters and police officers to distribute to children affected by traumatic events in Alice and surrounding areas during emergencies.

According to reports, the children who are given a teddy bear feel comfort and secured. The stuffed animal provides a sense of safety during a difficult time and a new beginning for them.

The students at WAMS wanted to make these kids feel confident and in good spirits with these donations.
