CommUNITY TOGETHER PROGRAM, AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN ACT FOR RESIDENTS IN JIM WELLS COUNTY

The Alice Black History Delegation of Alice, Texas (ABHD)will administer monies from the Jim Wells County passed as part of the American Rescue Plan Act. This program will assist qualified residents in Jim Wells County with one of the following: a gas card or food card or an electricity payment for a hardship during the COVID-19 Pandemic and still struggling.

COVID-19 affected many families in the community of Jim Wells County, the ABHD is here as a civic & charitable organization to provide opportunities for networking, inclusion, diversity to inform the people of county of the programs to educate to them.

The Alice Black History Delegation plans to launch the CommUNITY Together program in Alice, Texas Sunday, September 22, 2024, from JWC Commissioner Wicho Gonzalez Pct 4 Annex located at 2310 Old Kingsville Rd, Alice, Texas starting at 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. to distribute applications.

(Vehicles can line-up no earlier than 1:45p.m.) Applications will be collected on September 22, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at same location. Vehicles can line-up no earlier than 5:45p.m.)

The applicant will be allowed to select one benefit of funding which are:

$100 gas card, $100 food card or $200 toward an electricity bill statement. Eligibility Guidelines:

• Complete an application

• Be a residence of Jim Wells County

• Provide a form of ID

• Be a participate in one of these categories: o TANF, MEDICAID, SNAP, or Unemployment

• Supporting documents must match the name on the application (aka: Proof of Primary Residency)

• One program per household and one benefit funding The CommUNITY Together program will assist only first come first service approved applicants for 195 households in Jim Wells County: one program per household and one benefit funding. Completed applications with documents will be reviewed 1st.
