PREMONT – Alejandro L. Saenz, age 92, entered eternal rest on January 6, 2023, at his residence in Premont, Tx surrounded by his family.  He was born on May 3, 1930, in Santa Cruz, Tx. 

He is preceded in death by his wife of 68 yrs Anita S. Saenz, his parents Praxedis and Ydolina Saenz, brothers Andes (Jovita) Saenz, Fidencio Saenz, sisters Maria S. (Anselmo) Vera, Amanda S. (Elio) Perez.

He is survived by his 3 children Alejandro A. (Debbie) Saenz, Arturo A. (NoraLee) Saenz, Anabel S. (Al) Reyna, 1 granddaughter Alexandra E. Saenz, 1 step grandson Rick Alvarez, sister-in-law Carolina T. (Fidencio) Saenz and numerous nieces and nephews.

Alejandro joined the Army in 1952 where he served in Korea.  He was the manager of the Kaffie Lumber Yard in Premont for 30 yrs.  Once retired from Dresser Industries he worked as a salesman for Valley Hardware, traveling most of the South Tx area and then worked for NAPA in Falfurrias.  Finally, after retiring (again) he built and sold picnic benches from his home for 15+ yrs.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 12, 2023 from 5 till 9 p.m. at Rosas Funeral Home Chapel in Alice with a holy rosary to recited at 7 p.m. that evening.  A funeral service will be held Friday, January 13, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Rosas Funeral Home in Alice.  Burial to follow at the Sepulveda Ranch, 1487 W. Hwy 44 in San Diego.

Pallbearers will be Elio Perez, Roel Saenz, Arnold Mendoza, Tito Carbajal, Abel Arredondo, and Ariel Arredondo.  Honorary pallbearer will be Rick Alvarez.
