Maria Guadalupe Martinez “Lupita”, age 75, passed away October 28, 2022 in Alice, Texas. She was born August 8, 1947 in Alice, Texas to Luis and Manuela Jasso. Lupita had a love for dancing, listening to music, and traveling. She will forever be remembered for her love of being around people and befriending all those who she came in contact with. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Luis and Manuela Jasso; sister, Enedelia Jasso; and brother, Eristello Jasso.

Lupita is survived by her husband of 58 years, Reynol Martinez of Alice; three children, Reynol Martinez Jr. (Angelica A.) of Edinburg, Carlos Xavier Martinez of San Antonio, and Marla Pawlik (Michael) of Alice; siblings, Yolanda Escamilla of Green Acres, Cidelia Perez of Alice, and Juanita Rodriguez (Gilbert) of Corpus Christi; five grandchildren, Mark Anthony Martinez (Misty), Zachary Martinez (Samantha Nieva), Aiden Michael Pawlik, Andres Cortez, and Abraham Cortez; two great-grandchildren, Daphne Jade Martinez and Zoe Renee Martinez; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held Monday, October 31, 2022 from 5 till 9 p.m. at Rosas Funeral Home Chapel with a rosary being recited at 7 pm that evening. A funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will be held Thursday, November 3, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Coastal Bend Veterans Cemetery
