Josefa Medellin

Josefa Perez Medellin, 91, passed away September 9, 2022. She was born January 16, 1931 in Alice, Texas to Librado Perez and Antonia Luna Perez. Josefa was a nurse’s aide for numerous years at The Hospitality House. She was a true and devoted Alice Coyote. She had played the saxophone in the Alice High School Band and always enjoyed singing the words and hearing the School Fight Song. Josefa also enjoyed listening to Christmas music, spending time with her many grandchildren and had a slogan, “The More The Merrier.” She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Josefa was preceded in death by her parents, Librado and Antonia Perez; husband, Heriberto Medellin; great-grandson, Tommy Cavazos; son-in-law, Jose Luis Revilla Sr. “Joby”; siblings, Elodia Solis, Librado Perez Jr. and Ramon Perez.

Josefa is survived by her children, Heriberto E. (Patricia C.) Medellin Jr. of Alice, Jose P. (Linda) Medellin of Portland, Oscar (Melba) Medellin of
Alice, Irma M. Godines of Alice and Melba M. Revilla of Alice; daughter-in-law, Dolores G. Rivera of Seguin; brother, Jose (Sandy) Perez of Brownsville; sister-in-law, Gracie Perez of Victoria; 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 1 greatgrandson and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Heriberto “Beto” Medellin III Antonio Medellin, Marcus Medellin, Eric Martinez, Oscar Medellin Jr., Matthew Garza, Tommy Cavazos, and Jose Luis Revilla Jr

Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at Rosas Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Monday, September 19, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas at 1:00 pm.
