Juan Alaniz, age 61, passed away May 25, 2022 in Orange Grove, Texas. He was born October 22, 1960 in Mathis, Texas to Antonio Alaniz Sr. and Ester Perez Alaniz. Juan enjoyed working on crossword puzzles and enjoying his time outside with his adult beverages on the front porch. He was known to many in the neighborhood for running errands for everyone and playing pranks on his brother. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio Alaniz Sr. and Ester Perez Alaniz; brother, Antonio Alaniz Jr; and sister-in-law, Sandra Garza.

Juan is survived by his sisters, Maria Guadalupe Alaniz of Jarrell, Texas, Nelda Alaniz (Virgilio Guzman) of Orange Grove, Texas, Christian Rosales (Marcos) of Calallen, Texas and Melissa Ortiz (Joel) of Orange Grove, Texas; brothers, Arnoldo Alaniz, Jose Homero Alaniz and Noe Alaniz (Frances) all of Orange Grove, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be held Sunday, June 5, 2022 from 5 till 9 p.m. at Rosas Funeral Home Chapel with a rosary to be recited at 7:30 p.m. that evening. A funeral mass will be celebrated Monday, June 6, 2022 at 10 a.m. at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Orange Grove. Burial to follow at Orange Grove Union Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Rex Ortiz, Aiden Rosales, Matthew Alegria, Andrew Garza, Omar Alaniz, Anthony Alaniz, Arnoldo Alaniz Jr., and Noe Alaniz Jr.
