On Tuesday, June 17, staff, colleagues, and friends gathered at Sáenz Elementary to celebrate the upcoming retirement of one of Alice ISD’s most beloved employees, Mrs. Joann Sáenz.

A dedicated Administrative Assistant, Mrs. Sáenz has been a pillar of support and organization on campus, known for her kindness, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to students, staff, and the entire school community.

According to her colleagues, she’s the heart of the front office — someone who brought calm to chaos, answers to questions, and a friendly face to anyone who walked through the doors. She’s been the glue that holds so many of the daily operations together. Her impact goes far beyond paperwork and schedules — she’s touched the lives of everyone at Saenz Elementary.

With heartfelt words, hugs, and plenty of smiles, the Sáenz Elementary team thanked her for years of dedication and wished her a joyful next chapter. It’s a retirement well-deserved. But her presence will be missed in every hallway and every morning routine.

Though she may be stepping away from her desk, Mrs. Sáenz’s legacy of service and care will remain a part of the school for years to come.
