Monday, April 21, the City of Alice and surrounding areas across the Coastal Bend were treated to a much-needed dose of soothing rain, with some neighborhoods receiving more than 2 inches of rainfall.

The steady downpours in the morning and into the early afternoon brought both relief and beauty, as residents watched the skies open up and listened to the calming rhythm of rain against rooftops and windows. For many, it was a welcome break from recent dry days—a moment to pause, reflect, and refresh the spirit.

As the rain tapered off, the region shifted into a pattern of on-and-off isolated showers, reminding drivers and pedestrians to remain cautious. Officials continue to urge the public to be mindful of ponding on roadways and to “Turn Around, Don’t Drown” when approaching water-covered streets.

Though skies may remain gray a little longer, the rainfall brought renewed energy to the landscape and community. From lush lawns to cooler breezes, it’s a reminder of the beauty and power of nature.
