Participants of the annual glow run will take to Anderson Park for a night of fitness, fun, color and lights. The St. Elizabeth 5K Glow Run’s Director Carolina Nisimblat says she can’t wait to see the runners light up the evening for the race.
“We started this years ago with the intention of providing the kids at St. Elizabeth a track where they could go run. That’s how it all started because we needed funds for a track because we wanted the kids to be healthy and active. The entire community of Alice and surrounding area comes together and it’s really overwhelming to see the support,” she said.

Erica Brown is a parent of two kids attending the parochial school participating in her second year of the glow run and has learned a lot from the event.
“This is my second year of diving into it and there is so much that goes behind the scenes to make it as big as it is. I’ve never been to a 5k run that looks like this and it’s so wonderful because it’s all geared towards the kids. We have the different grades that decorate their area and different businesses showing their sponsorship. It’s really nice to walk through with my family and see what the event has to offer,” she said.
