Monday night’s Alice ISD School Board Meeting was filled with music, pride, and applause as Alice High School Band and Choir students who advanced to the UIL State Solo & Ensemble Contest were formally recognized for their accomplishments.
Students from both the band and choir programs earned top ratings at regional competitions earlier this year, qualifying them to perform at the UIL State Solo & Ensemble event—a prestigious achievement that reflects months of dedication and discipline.
School board members, administrators, teachers, and families gathered to celebrate the musicians’ efforts and recognize them for representing Alice High School and Alice ISD with excellence on a statewide level.

“These students have gone above and beyond,” said Band Director Emerico Perez. “They’ve practiced countless hours outside of school and shown a true passion for their craft. It’s a proud moment for our school and our community.”
The students were introduced individually, with each name followed by applause.
From powerful vocal performances to skilled instrumental solos and ensembles, these Coyotes and Lady Coyotes showed the power of artistry, perseverance, and school spirit.
As the 2024–2025 school year comes to a close, the district congratulates the UIL State Solo & Ensemble qualifiers and encourages the community to continue supporting fine arts in education.
“These achievements don’t just happen overnight,” said Board Member Lee Ramon. “They reflect a strong program, incredible students, and committed teachers.”
