The Benavides ISD community came together with passion and purpose during a Bond 2025 Support Rally Sunday, April 27 at the city park, to rally momentum and support for a transformative initiative aimed at improving district facilities and student resources.
Parents, students, and the rest of the community gathered in a show of unity, optimism, and commitment to the future of Benavides ISD in this community driven event. The rally featured heartfelt speeches emphasizing the long-term benefits the bond will bring to the district and its students.
If passed, Bond 2025 will fund a comprehensive list of much-needed upgrades and improvements across the district, including:
- Upgraded plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems throughout campuses
- Renovation of locker rooms and restrooms at the softball and baseball facilities
- A brand-new elementary playground for the youngest students
- Kitchen equipment upgrades for improved nutrition services
- Resurfacing of the track, tennis courts, and parking lots for safety and performance
- Press box PA system enhancements for sports and school events
- Improvements to the district marquee, adding modern communication capabilities
- Technology system upgrades to keep students connected and competitive
- Upgrades to district transportation, ensuring safer and more reliable student travel
Speakers at the rally spoke to the importance of investing in these projects not just for the present, but for generations to come. Many highlighted how these improvements will provide safer, more functional learning environments and instill pride in both students and staff.
There was free food, music with DJ Mark Gomez, moon jumps and snow cones for all those in attendance.
As early voting continues thru April 29 and the community prepares for the general election May 3, support for the bond is growing. The rally served as a reminder that when a community comes together for a common goal, great things can happen.
