Mayor Sally Lichtenberger has issued a notice to residents regarding the upcoming construction work on Highway 359/Dr. E.E. Dunlap. Starting Thursday, April 10th, a road closure will take place from Highway 44 to St. Charles Street due to necessary construction activities.

To minimize disruptions for residents and commuters, alternative routes will be available. Motorists are advised to use St. James Street and Mier Street as alternate routes to access Highway 359. Additionally, traffic will still be able to use St. Charles, St. Peter’s, and St. Joseph outlets to access local areas.

Mayor Lichtenberger encourages all drivers to exercise caution while traveling in these areas during the construction period. She also reassured residents that city officials are working diligently to complete the project as quickly and efficiently as possible.

“Please plan ahead and use the alternative routes for your safety,” Mayor Lichtenberger stated in a social media outlet. “We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to improve our roads and infrastructure.”

Residents are urged to stay updated on further developments and road conditions, as work continues.
