This Saturday, April 12, 2025, Alice Helping Hands is organizing a communal clean-up at the historic Collins Cemetery, located at 135 S. Flournoy Road, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The group invites everyone from near and far to come together and help restore this sacred site.
As part of their efforts to beautify and maintain the cemetery, volunteers will work to remove trash, overgrowth, dead trees, and ensure the area is a peaceful and comfortable place for visitors to honor their loved ones. It’s a wonderful opportunity to give back to the community and make a meaningful difference.
For those interested in participating, Alice Helping Hands asks that you bring your own tools for the clean-up. Recommended equipment includes:
- Gloves
- Rakes
- Chainsaws
- Weed eaters
- Mowers
- Leaf blowers
- Shovels
- Limb loppers/cutters
Zachary W. Oestreich of Alice Helping Hands can be contacted at (956) 684-8157 for more information or if you have any questions.
Refreshments will be served as a thank-you for everyone’s hard work and dedication.
Oestreich invites everyone out and help make Collins Cemetery a better, more welcoming place for the community to honor and remember those who have passed. Your efforts will truly make a difference!
