The Alice community is invited to an important informational session on child abuse awareness and prevention, led by Outreach Specialist Ashley Arevalo from the Children’s Advocacy Center of the Coastal Bend. This event will take place on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at 5:30 PM inside the Schallert Elementary School cafeteria. It is organized by the Alice ISD Social Work Department and aims to bring crucial information to the community regarding the prevention of child abuse and how everyone can play a role in keeping children safe.

Ashley Arevalo, a passionate advocate for children’s safety, will guide the discussion on the signs of child abuse and provide essential tools and methods for recognizing and preventing abuse in various forms. She will also share resources available through the Children’s Advocacy Center of the Coastal Bend for individuals who suspect or have encountered cases of child abuse.

The event is open to all members of the community, offering a chance to learn more about this critical issue affecting children in the area and beyond. A light dinner and drinks will be provided for attendees, ensuring a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere for open dialogue and questions.

The Alice ISD Social Work Department encourages families, teachers, and local community members to attend this event.
