The Alice Police Department has achieved a remarkable milestone that has not been seen in nearly 20 years. For the first time in two decades, the department recorded zero burglaries of a habitation in the month of March 2025. This significant accomplishment highlights the hard work, dedication, and teamwork that have been central to the department’s efforts to ensure the safety and security of the Alice community.
Chief Eden Garcia praised the achievement, stating, “This incredible accomplishment reflects the hard work of our officers, the vigilance of our community, and our shared commitment to safety.” Chief Garcia further emphasized that such success is a product of collaboration between law enforcement and the public, and the importance of maintaining open communication to continue this positive trend.
Along with the historic milestone of zero burglaries of a habitation, the department’s statistics for March reflect a variety of ongoing efforts in crime prevention and public safety:
- 1 burglary of a building
- 1 burglary of a vehicle
- 48 alarm calls
- 73 total arrests
- 1,817 total response calls
- 46 total vehicle accidents
- 8 drug offenses
- 4 aggravated assaults
Despite the challenges in other areas, these statistics show that the Alice Police Department continues to be actively engaged in addressing crime across the city, with particular focus on the safety and well-being of residents.
Chief Garcia praised the department’s proactive strategies, noting, “Our officers are committed to not only responding to incidents but also working hard to prevent crime before it happens. Our ability to achieve zero burglaries of a habitation is a testament to their diligence and the partnership we have with the community.”
The department’s work goes beyond just arrests and responding to calls. Garcia added that the achievement of zero burglaries of a habitation is a collective success that includes the support and vigilance of the public. “Our community plays a vital role in helping us keep our city safe. With the help of the public, we can continue to build on this success and ensure Alice remains a safe place for everyone.”
As the Alice Police Department continues its mission to protect and serve, Chief Garcia reiterated the importance of keeping up the momentum. “Let’s keep working together to make Alice safer every day,” he said, encouraging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
This historic achievement not only marks a turning point for the Alice Police Department but also serves as a reminder that when law enforcement and the community unite for a common goal, positive change is possible. As the department moves forward, it remains committed to maintaining this momentum and continuing to build a safer, stronger Alice for all.
