After an unforgettable season filled with hard work, challenges and perseverance the Alice High School Powerlifting State Qualifiers have emerged as the State Champions in the RAW Division.

Brooke Castillo, Deidra Chapa and Payson Trejo built momentum throughout the season knowing they had what it took to go all the way. It was a natural fit for this trio because they are drawn to strength sports. 

State Coach of the Meet was Alice’s Tinker Villarreal.

Back-to-Back State Champion in the 97-pound weight class was Brooke Castillo. She broke the state squat record with a 195 and broke the total with a 540.

Deidra Chapa placed second in the 97-pound weight class and broke the state bench record with 130 and the deadlift with a 240. Chapa also earned the award for Best Bench at the State Meet.

Payson Trejo placed third in the 114-pound weight class with a 595 total.
