It’s time to gear up for a thrilling fall season and parents/guardians were out in numbers elevating their child’s enthusiasm and transforming it into a dream come true.
Joining the Alice Youth Football League (AYFL) was fast and easy, especially Monday, Feb. 24 at Anderson Park between 6:00-7:30pm in an Early Fall Registration event. The very first one hundred in attendance signed up for free, no charge for registration.
This was for the youth wanting to participate in tackle 6u, 8u, 10u and 12u.
Running an organization is hard and sometimes thankless work but team moms that were out helping Coach Cooky Rosales making it happen were Victoria Vallejo and Jennifer Garcia.
In just after 30 minutes of taking registrations, 70 kids had already put pen to paper and signed up to play this year.
Most of the parents that give time to the sport with their kids are the same ones that made the most of it playing it back in the day when they were about knee high and followed it up in middle school and high school like Robert Ramos.
“He signed up when he was a kid and now, he has his son playing too. Alot of these kids are drawn to the sport because it makes them happy and they’re really good at it,” said Coach Rosales.
The AYFL is a 501.C3 organization and wants to give back to the community by promoting the wholesome development of youth through their association with exemplary adult leaders in the sport. Coaches are dedicated to teaching the youth through positive role models so all the kids can play youth football in the Hub City.
