On Friday, February 14th, at approximately 10:30 PM, an auto-pedestrian fatal crash occurred on State Highway 359 approximately one-mile South from Alfred. Mikaela Lee (25) of Alice was walking along State Highway 359 in southbound lane and was reportedly walking in and out of the roadway.
Staff Sargeant with the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Rob Mallory Lee said the woman was struck by an unknown vehicle traveling southbound on State Highway 359. The vehicle and driver did not stop at the scene.
Lee was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace McKenzie Chapa. The crash remains under investigation by Troopers from the Texas Highway Patrol Alice office.
