Domingo Alvarez, age 92, passed away February 4, 2023 in Alice, Texas. He was born August 17, 1930 in Combes, Texas to Emilio and Maria Alvarez. Domingo worked for the Lease Crews for numerous years and later for the Pest Control Service. Domingo had a love for woodworking, and will forever be remembered for his love of gardening. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emilio and Maria Alvarez; wife, Hilaria Alvarez; son, Domingo Alvarez Jr.; siblings, Francisco Alvarez and Antonio Alvarez; sisters, Albina Rodriguez and Candelaria Rodriguez; sisters-in-law, Maria Antonia Silvas, Jesusa Canales and Ramona Rico; brother-in-law, Alfredo Medina; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Genoveva and Erineo Medina.

Domingo is survived by his children, Dora Maria Trigo (George) of San Antonio, David Alvarez (Elsa) of Corpus Christi, Daniel Alvarez of Edinburg, Roberto Alvarez Sr. (Rosanna) of Savannah, Georgia, Ricardo Alvarez of Rosenberg, Candelaria Canales (Roberto) of Alice, Rene Alvarez (Andrea) of Portland, and Irene Gomez (Hector) of Houston; siblings, Aurora Camargo of Weslaco and Christina Thomas (Eugene) of Houston; sisters-in-law, Rosa Medina of Katy and Irene Jones of The Rock, Georgia; brother-in-law, Erineo Medina of Houston; 21 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 8, 2023 from 5 till 9 p.m. at Rosas Funeral Home with a holy rosary being recited at 7 p.m. that evening. A funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday, February 9, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Old Collins Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Rafael Alvarez, Nabor Luis “Blue” Castro, Daniel Zamora, Robert R. Canales (Robbie), Brandon Alvarez, and Chris Alvarez.
