It is with great sadness that the family of Marco Antonio “Tony” Benavides announce his passing. Tony passed away on January 18, 2023, at the age of 36 years old. He was born May 13, 1986, in Alice, Texas to Alfredo and Sylvia Benavides. Tony will forever be remembered as the life of the party, happy-go-lucky best friend, brother, uncle, son, husband, and loving father. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and loved his children dearly. Tony enjoyed life to the fullest. He enjoyed traveling with friends and family, especially wild Vegas trips. Tony enjoyed barbecuing, listening to music and being a member of Finest Dreams Car Club. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Antonio Benavides; maternal grandparents, Bruno and Endelia Perez; and uncles, Jose Carlos Perez and Tonito Benavides
He is survived by his wife, Destiny Rajewich of Alice; children, Mercedes Benavides of Alice, Marco Torres “T.J.” of New Braunfels, Andres Alfaro of Alice, Tony Rey Benavides of Alice, and Destony Benavides of Alice; parents, Alfredo and Sylvia Benavides of Alice; paternal grandmother, Aida Benavides of Alice; brothers, Alfredo Benavides Jr. (Krystal) of Ben Bolt, Ray Benavidez (Kassandra) of Alice, and Randy Benavidez (Sarah) of Alice; mother-in-law, Yvonne Castillo (Johnny Trejo) of Alice; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 23, 2023 from 5 p.m. till 9 p.m. at Rosas Funeral Home with a holy rosary being recited at 7 p.m. that evening. A funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial to follow at New Collins Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be “T.J. Marco Torres, Andres Alfaro, Freddy Benavides Jr., Ray Benavides, Randy Benavides, Armando Benavides Jr., Manuel Perales, Simon Salinas, Kidmond Vela, and Corando Torres.
“He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honour him.” (Psalm -91) I am home at last.
