Pastor Ricardo Martinez Jr., 47 years of age, entered into eternal rest on Friday, December 30, 2022, in an auto accident. He was born in Alice, Texas on August 14, 1975, to his parents, Rev. Ricardo and Anita P. Martinez Sr. Co-Pastor, Ricardo (Rick) Martinez Jr, served San Diego Family Worship Center for most of his life, part of that with his late father Rev. Ricardo Martinez Sr. He devoted his life to his God and his congregation. He spent every moment outside church making his beloved wife of 23 years, Jessica, and two children, Ricardo III & Jacqueline very happy. He adored his mother Pastor Anita P. Martinez; he was definitely a proud “momma’s boy”. Rick was the eldest of four children, he loved his three sisters, their love language included play fighting and arguing, followed promptly by forgiveness. Apart from his own children he adored his four nieces and one great niece Mazzy who he called “Ma-She”. Aside from his immediate family Rick enjoyed the company of his “Trevinos”, “Briones”, and his friends the “Penas”. He was an extremely gifted musician but exceled and loved the guitar, but his greatest love of all was the love he had for Jesus Christ. His number one goal in life was to lead lost souls to Jesus Christ. Outside of church he enjoyed sports, his small businesses, fishing, eating different types of cuisine, traveling to many different places with his wife, but above all he most enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and making everyone smile and laugh, he truly was the life of any party. To know Rick was to know what the joy of the Lord was.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Ricardo Martinez, Father; paternal grandparents, Miguel & Nieves Martinez; maternal grandparents, Lorenzo & Oralia Trevino and Antonio & San Juana Mungia.
Ricardo is survived by his wife of 23 of marriage, Jessica A. Martinez; his son, Ricardo Raul Martinez III; his daughter, Jacqueline Rose Martinez all of Alice, Texas; his mother, Anita P.
