Erasmo Luna Sr., 89 years of age passed away on December 23, 2022, in a Corpus Christi hospital. Erasmo was born on November 30, 1933, in San Benito, Texas to Manuel and Viviana Silva Luna. He was a school Custodian for School District in Georgia, he also worked for the City of Alice in the maintenance department.  He served our country during the Korean conflict as a member to the United States Army. Erasmo will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather and great grandfather to his family whom he loved very much.

Erasmo is preceded in death by his parents, one son Erasmo Luna Jr. and brother Enrique Luna Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memories, sons Elias Luna of Alice, and  Juan (Inez) Gutierrez of Midland, Texas; daughters, Ester Luna of Hawkinsville, Georgia, Elda (Abelardo) Luna Rodriguez, Elsa (Roque) Longoria both of Alice, Texas, Eva (Victor) Goyea of Mesa, Arizona and Patty (Joel) Mejia of Hurst, Texas; brothers, Manuel (Mary) Luna of Hebbronville, Texas, Estorgio “Joe” (Elva) Luna and Ezekiel  (Dalia) Luna both of Alice, Texas; sisters, Elodia Crisp of Alice, Texas and Esmeralda (Eloy) Gonzalez of Green Acres, Texas.  Other survivors include 22 grandchildren: 54 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Rosas Funeral Home with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 pm.  Funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:30 am on Friday, December 30, 2022, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.  Burial will follow at Alice Cemetery with military honors by the United Burial Association.
