Carlos Castillo Sr.

Carlos Castillo Sr. entered eternal rest January 2, 2023 at his residence in Alice, Texas. He was born March 10, 1948 in Alice, Texas to Jesus and Carolina Castillo. Carlos was an outdoors person who enjoyed working on vehicles, working at the ranch, or just enjoying nature sitting outside. Carlos’ joy were his grandchildren and will forever be remembered for his unconditional love for his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Carolina Castillo, his wife, Lydia Castillo; siblings, Jesus Castillo, Juan Castillo, Corando Castillo, Lydia Castillo, and Evaristo Castillo; brothers-in-law, Gilbert Chapa, Noe Ortiz, and Enrique Luna.

Carlos is survived by his children, Carlos Castillo Jr. (Nancy) of Houston, Jaime Castillo of Houston, and Carla Yanez (Sal) of Bryan; siblings, Noe Castillo (Ignacia), Olga Castillo Chapa, Juana Castillo, Jose Castillo (Mary), Orlando Castillo (Diana), Martin Castillo, Javier Castillo, Eddie Gonzalez (Melissa), and Abran Gonzalez; grandchildren, Jacob Barton, Jesica Ferrufino (Alfred), Sarah Castillo, Hunter Castillo, Layla Yanez, and Brani Yanez; sisters-in-law, Esmeralda Castillo, Felicia Castillo, Rachel Castillo, and Linda Castillo; great-grandchildren, Elena Barton, Nico Ferrufino, and Mateo Ferrufino; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Rosas Funeral Home from 12 p.m. till 1 p.m. with a holy rosary to be recited at 1 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Roberson Collins Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Orlando Castillo, Martin Castillo, Eddie Castillo, Carlos Castillo, Sal Yanez, Ricky Castillo, and Javier Castillo.
