Severo G. Perez Jr. passed away on December 12, 2022, at his residence with his family gathered by his side. He was born on June 20, 1935, in Los Reyes community in Duval County to Severo and Carlota G. Perez Sr. Severo was a truck driver for many years. Severo loved the Lord and was involved in his church. He loved reading the mission story every sabbath and was ordained a deacon at the Alice Spanish Seventh-day Adventist Church. He loved gardening, watching westerns and boxing, getting together with family, and eating oranges and hamburgers. His family will remember him as a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He is preceded in death by one son, Eduardo Perez; and his son-in-law, Kevin B. Toews; father, Severo G. Perez Sr.; mother, Carlota Perez; brothers, Edwardo “Lalo” Perez and Roberto “Chonge” Perez; and niece, Lamar Olivarez.

Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years of marriage, Agustina “Tina” I. Perez of Alice, Texas; one daughter, Dolly Ann Toews of Alice, Texas; two sons, Albert (Leslie) Perez of Alice, Texas, Severo (Lisa) Perez III of Corpus Christi, Texas, two sisters, Irma P. (Roberto) Mercado of San Antonio, Texas and Evangelina Perez of. Robstown, Texas; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The family would also like to thank the amazing faculty if Altus Hospice for providing all the assistance, caring, and support of our father and grandfather. Thanks to the nurses and nursing assistants: Gracie, Marissa, Misty, Julissa, and Laurie.

Family will receive friends Sunday, December 18, 2022, at 5:00 P.M. at Rosas Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. that evening. Funeral church service will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. on Monday at the Alice Spanish Seventh-day Adventist Church located at 1515 S. Cameron St. Burial will follow at the Roselawn Cemetery.
