Rinaldo M. “Naldo” “Popo” Ramirez, age 88, passed away December 7, 2022 in Alice, Texas surrounded by his family. He was born January 11, 1934 in Kingsville, Texas to Cesario and Benita Ramirez. Naldo had a strong work ethic. He was a synthetic stucco specialist for numerous years and instilled those ethics and trades in his children. He began his career at the age of 15 years old where he would stucco his first house on Hobbs Street in Alice. Naldo later stuccoed many houses and buildings throughout the coastal bend such as HEB’s, Walgreens, Urgent Care in Alice, and the Harkins Statue in Alice. Naldo had a love for the Dallas Cowboys, San Antonio Spurs, barbecuing, and gardening. He was known to have a green thumb and could make rose bushes grow in the winter. Naldo will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Naldo was preceded in death by his parents, Cesario and Benita Ramirez; sister Belbina Ramirez; grandchildren, Stephanie Marie Ramirez, Jacob Ike Lopez, and Perla Gonzalez; and great-grandchildren, Tristan Emilio Ramirez and Lilly Gonzalez
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Dominga Ramirez of Alice; children, Rinaldo Ramirez Jr. (Adriana) of Alice, Dominga “Masie” Gonzalez (Omar Rosas) of. Alice, Mr. and Mrs. Cesario and Nora Lisa Ramirez of Orange Grove, Benita Ramirez (Sisto Cantu) of Alice, Vicente Ramirez of Alice, and Angelica Ramirez of Alice; 19. grandchildren, Leeanna Rae Ramirez, Desirae Ramirez, Ashlee Renee Ramirez, Reina Ramirez, Destiny Flores, Joe Michael Flores, Mariah Renee Flores, Faith Inez Flores, Christian Jay Flores, Miracle Gonzalez, Rosalie Peña (Jo), Clemente “Frankie” Lopez (Jolynn), Bethany Lopez (Mayo Ramirez), Lowlisa Gonzalez, Myranda Cantu, Vicente. Noel Ramirez, Emilio Ramirez, Angel Ramirez, and Consuelo “Connie” Ramirez; 36 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Vicente Ramirez, Emilio Ramirez, Angel Ramirez, Anthony Vega, Joe Michael Flores, Clemente “Frankie” Lopez, Kolby Walker, and Amado Ramirez Jr.
Visitation will be held Monday, December 12, 2022 from 5 till 9 p.m. with a holy rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that evening. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Las. Latas Cemetery.
