Santos Jesus Castillo Sr. “Chuy” passed away October 4, 2022 in Alice, Texas. He was born November 21, 1948 in Mexico to Francisco Castillo and Ignacia Mendez. Chuy enjoyed welding, making barbecue pits, watching boxing, and doing mechanic work which he ran his own mechanic shop for years. He loved his grandchildren who he affectionately called his pollitos and pollitas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco Castillo and Ignacia Mendez; wife, Norma “Queenie” Castillo; grandson, Zade Balderas; and granddaughter,
Javier “Javy” Jesus Casas, 46 years of age, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 22, 2022. He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on April 3, 1976 to his parents, Rudy and Ann Casas. He was a graduate of Freer High School class of 1994 and a graduate of Texas A & M University Kingsville, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Natural Gas Engineering. Javy was formerly employed with his father and brother, Rene at Freer Iron Works and was presently co-owner of STX Process Equipment, Ace Hardware of Zapata and Lonesome Creek RV Resort. He and his wife Lori are also in the process of opening the newest Ace Hardware store in Laredo, TX. Javy was a loving husband, father, son, brother and uncle who was loved by everyone and will be sadly missed by all his family. He was an avid Aggie fan, and he had a love for spending time at his family ranch with his sons and family. Javy was very active with his sons and attended all their sports activities. Javy also enjoyed hunting, making Pan de Campo and spending time with his family and friends. Eduardo Salinas Sr., 63, years of age passed away on October 17, 2022, at his residence with his family by his side. He was born June 10, 1959, in Alice, Texas to Inez and Eduarda Tanguma Salinas. Eduardo worked oilfield for many years until lastly, he was doing Fire extinguisher inspections. He will be missed by his family but will be remembered eternally as a great dad and a provider for always making sure they didn’t do without. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother Eliseo Salinas Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years of marriage Rosario “Rosie” Salinas of Orange Grove, Texas, one son Eduardo Salinas Jr. of Orange Grove, Texas, One daughter Delia(Gabriel) Medina of Alice, Texas, seven brothers Elias Salinas of Alice, Texas, Santos Salinas of Grandview, Texas, Inez ( Gladys) Salinas of Alice, Texas Ezequiel (Martha) Salinas of Corpus Christi, Texas, Refugio (Anna) Salinas of Midlothian, Texas, Elizar (Kathy) Salinas of Alvarado, Texas, Daniel Salinas of Dallas, Texas, Three sisters Esther Salinas of Dallas, Texas, Elva( Jose) Alejandro of Dallas, Texas and Eva Gonzalez of Alice, Texas and eight grandchildren; Gabriella Medina, Delilah Medina, Daniella Medina, George Medina, Eduardo Salinas III, Elijah Salinas, Kiera Salinas, and Sophia Salinas Visitation will be held on Thursday October 27, 2022, at 5:00 P.M. at Rosas Funeral Home with a Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. Funeral Service will be conducted Friday October 28, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. at Rosas Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Roberson-Collins Cemetery.
