Texas Comptroller Visits Beaumont for Fourth Stop of Good for Texas Tour: Water Edition

BEAUMONT — Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar today visited the Lower Neches Valley Authority (LNVA) on the southeast Texas stop of his Good for Texas Tour: Water Edition. The LNVA manages and coordinates a canal system that delivers fresh water to eight cities, 26 industries and more than 100 irrigated farms in the region.

Spotting Depression In Pets

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION - For pets accustomed to a certain routine or way of life, having to adjust to great or sudden changes can be extremely difficult. For some pets, these changes can even result in a depressive state. Dr. Ashley Navarrette, a clinical assistant professor at the Texas A&M School of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences, says that depression in pets is usually associated with a major change or event.

NBC Universal Media Scholarship Program

The NBC Universal Media Scholarship Program is intended to assist and encourage outstanding undergraduate Latino students attending a U.S. post-secondary institution with an interest in the media and entertainment industry. The program will award 10 $5,000 national scholarships to qualified rising sophomores and juniors and is sponsored by NBCUniversal and administered by the LULAC National Educational Service Centers (LNESC).

Get Fired Up! Del Mar College Calling All Area Welders to Register for First ‘Día De Los Muertos’ Welding Competition Set for Nov. 4

Del Mar College’s Welding Applied Technology Program with the Industrial Technology Department is holding their first “Día De Los Muertos” Welding Competition scheduled Friday, Nov. 4, on the Windward Campus. They’re “fired up” and are now taking registration from Coastal Bend Dual Credit high school and college students as well as professional welders for competition categories for each group.
