Santos Jesus Castillo Sr. “Chuy”

Santos Jesus Castillo Sr. “Chuy” passed away October 4, 2022 in Alice, Texas. He was born November 21, 1948 in Mexico to Francisco Castillo and Ignacia Mendez. Chuy enjoyed welding, making barbecue pits, watching boxing, and doing mechanic work which he ran his own mechanic shop for years. He loved his grandchildren who he affectionately called his pollitos and pollitas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco Castillo and Ignacia Mendez; wife, Norma “Queenie” Castillo; grandson, Zade Balderas; and granddaughter, Clarissa Castillo.

He is survived by his children, Marta DeLeon (Armando) of Alice, Veronica Castillo Godines (Joe) of Alice, Santos Castillo Jr. (Valerie Garcia) of Alice, Erica Castillo (Humberto Calderon) of San Antonio, and Francisco Castillo (Ciara) of Alice; bonus child, Zoe Baldera and Sean Molina of Alice; siblings, Felipe Castillo, Francisco Castillo, Maria Santos Castillo Mendez, and Juan Castillo all of Aguas Calietnes, Mexico; 16 grandchildren, Hailey DeLeon, Maddison DeLeon, Armando DeLeon Jr., Zoey Balderas, Zane Balderas, Zach Balderas, Zabreena Gonzalez, Santos Jesus Castillo III, Roz Calderon, Romelo Calderon, Myami Calderon, Landen Castillo, Aven Castillo, Ella Castillo, Francisco Castillo Jr., and Myah Castillo, and one on the way, Milani Calderon; one great-grandchild, Aiden Molina; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 25, 2022 from 5 till 9 p.m. at Rosas Funeral Home with a rosary being held at 7 p.m. that evening. A funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will be held at Roberson Collin Cemetery.
