Alberto “Japo” Vasquez Sr.

Alberto “Japo” Vasquez Sr.- 67 years of age passed away peacefully at his residence with his loving family by his side.  Alberto was born on July 11, 1955, in Alice, Texas to Rosendo and Dora G. Vasquez. He worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator for various oil companies of this area. Japo, as he was known to many, enjoyed fishing, hunting and being outdoors. He had a passion for his yard and would find himself doing the cutting and trimming, for in his eyes he was the only one that could meet perfection with yard work. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan and loved to see a good baseball game with the Texas Rangers. He was an active member of the San Diego Worship Center. His faith in God was so strong, believed in the word of God that he would often read the Bible.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Rosendo Salinas Jr. and, Thomas Gilberto Salinas; one sister Gloria V. Salinas and brother-in-law Ramon Salinas.

Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years of marriage Rose Ann Vasquez of Alice, Texas; two daughters Vanessa (Joey) Garcia and Amanda Vasquez; one son Alberto (Veronica) Vasquez Jr. all of Alice, Texas; two granddaughters Emyri Faith Garcia and Gabriann Garcia; two grandsons Ezequiel Gabriel Vasquez and Jose C. Garcia III all of Alice, Texas.  Other survivors include two sisters Consuelo Lerma of San Antonio, Texas and Emma Vasquez of North Carolina; one brother Ruben Vasquez of Kingsville, Texas and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who he loved dearly and impacted their life greatly as if they were his own.

Family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. at Rosas Funeral Home with funeral service to begin at 1:00 P.M.  Burial will follow at the Roberson-Collins Cemetery.

Honoring Alberto as pallbearers will be Gabriel Gomez, Martin De La Torre, Troy Vasquez, Tiger Vasquez, Justo Salinas, Raymond Salinas, Luis Lerma and Adrian Gutierrez.
