Rosita Garza Ramirez

Rosita Garza Ramirez, 90, of Alice passed away on Friday, October 7, 2022. She was born in Alice on August 27, 1932, to Valentine Ramirez Sr. and Julia Ramirez. Rosita was a loving mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, sister, and aunt.

Rosita was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and sang in the choir for many years. She also served as a Eucharistic Minister and as a member of Catholic Daughters of America and Las Mutualistas. She enjoyed traveling with the church and friends and helping with the annual jamaicas. Rosita will be remembered for her contagious laugh, her collection of fashion accessories, and the love she had for her family and friends.

Rosita is preceded in death by her parents, Valentine Sr. and Julia Garza Ramirez, and her brothers, Juan Ramirez, Nicolas Ramirez, and Valentine Ramirez Jr, and by her daughter-in-law Lina Vela Ramirez.

She is survived by one son, Arnold (Lina+) Ramirez of Angleton, two sisters Maria Jasso (Francisco+) of Alice, and Delia Cortez (Frank) of Portland; two brothers Federico Ramirez Sr. of Alice, and Manuel “Meme” (Rachel) Ramirez Sr. of Alice; three grandsons Arnold Ramirez Jr. (Maritza Luna) of Houston, Gabriel Ramirez of Houston, Javier Ramirez of Austin, and one granddaughter Christina Ramirez (Juan Daniel Ortiz) of Selma. Rosita also leaves behind two great-granddaughters Jazzmine Enamorado and Giselle Enamorado, and one great-grandson Luke Michael Ortiz along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A special thank you is extended to the staff at Meridian Care of Alice and Country Village of Angleton for their care of Rosita.

Visitation will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, October 12 2022, at Rosas Funeral Home with a Rosary beginning at 1 pm. A funeral mass will follow at 2 pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alice.

Pallbearers will be Nicolas Ramirez Jr., Manuel Ramirez Jr., Orlando Jasso, Frank De La Rosa, Ricky Ramirez and Tony Cortez.
