Jose ”Joe” Maria Peña Jr.

Jose Maria Peña Jr. “Joe”, age 74, passed away September 3, 2022 in Orange Grove, Texas surrounded by his family. He was born January 4, 1948 in Robstown, Texas to Jose Maria Peña Sr. and Anastacia Ramirez Peña. Joe proudly served his country by enlisting in the United States Army followed by the National Guard. His career as a truck driver paved his way to owning his own company, Peña Trucking. He was known to many for his love of manicured lawns. Joe was a family-oriented man who enjoyed the company of his family. Joe will be remembered as a humble man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Juan G. Ramos

Juan G. Ramos, “Johnny”, 72, of Alice, Texas, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at his home while surrounded by close family and friends. He was born on August 19, 1950, in San Diego, Texas to Ponciano and Paula G. Ramos. Johnny was blessed and gifted with a talent to sing and perform conjunto and Tejano music. Aside from singing to family and friends at every opportunity, Johnny was very well known as a band member and singer for Ruben Naranjo y Los Gamblers, Rene Joslin y Los Favoritos and Los Estrenos de Mando Garza. His passion for music earned him an induction and award to the Tejano R.O.O.T.S Hall of Fame Museum. Everyone who knew Johnny felt his big heart and giving nature. He was a hard worker and had an amazing sense of humor, always joking and laughing. He will be missed, especially by his wife and children. Johnny is survived by his wife, Gloria, of 38 years, 7 sons, Juan Jesus, Ponciano (Melissa), Gilbert (Beatris), Javier, Robert (Maricela), Randy (Toni), Johnny (Rosie), 2 daughters Rafaela and Thelma, 28 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews, brother Ponciano Ramos Jr. and sister Lucy Guzman and extended family. Johnny was a loving father, husband, grandfather, and friend to many. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2022 starting with a viewing and visitation at 10:00 A.M. at Rosas Funeral Home Chapel. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 11:30 A.M. Funeral Procession will depart the funeral home at 12:30 P.M. to St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church of San Diego. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 P.M. Burial will follow at the San Diego Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be Jesus Benavides Jr., Christopher Benavides, Javier Alejandro Ramos, Michael Eric Ramos, Ponciano Ramos Jr. Isaac Ramos, Robert Ramos Jr. and Randy Ramos Jr. Rosas Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements
